Tomorrow, the King Abdullah Specialist Ear Center will organize the 13th annual meeting of cochlear implant patients and their families at the College of Medicine at King Saud University.

In this context, the head of the organizing committee said to meet with Dr. Ahmed Al-Dhafiri, the 13th annual meeting of cochlear implant patients and their families for this year will witness a group of specialists in all specialties and sectors to enrich and serve citizens and educate them on the most important issues related.

He added: It will shed light on the rights of cochlear implant patients and their educational and employment families and reveal the appropriate means for them to use in the rehabilitation process, as well as answering their most important inquiries from geneticists, surgeons and speech therapists.

Dr. explained. Al-Dhafiri said that this year’s forum will have an important message to society about what this segment of cochlear implant patients and their families suffer from in this aspect of our children, how to deal with them, know their needs, and shed light on them.

For his part, the head of the King Abdullah Specialist Center for Ear revealed Dr. Abdul Rahman Hajar, that the center’s significant development in medical and surgical devices and services except through the efforts of those in charge of it in implementation of the recommendations of the guardianship, as it provides all kinds of health services in ear, hearing and speech diseases and is carrying out many advanced operations worldwide in hospital operating rooms King Abdulaziz University.

He continued: “The center also provides a lot of educational and awareness-raising events, and qualification of specialists from specialists to prepare them in the fellowship of ear and auditory nerves for a period of two years to serve the nation’s children in various regions of the Kingdom, pointing out that the e-cochlear implant program that started in 1994 was conducting one case Annually, thanks to God, cochlear implant surgery is in continuous development until we have grown to 400 electronic cochlear implants per year to cover the numbers of patients with sensory hearing loss.

Dr. praised. Stone with the support of the Minister of Education, d. Ahmed Al-Essa for the center, and the material and moral support it provides to serve the aspirations of the Kingdom.

It is worth noting that one of the local studies mentioned that the number of children who suffer from severe hearing loss sensory nerve reached 46,800 thousand children.
