A Saudi medical team at King Saud University Medical City has made a new medical breakthrough in the field of cochlear implant, using the “H2 cochlear forceps” that was invented at the King Abdullah Specialist Center for Ear at King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Riyadh.
Dr. visions Halawani, an ENT consultant, said that the forceps were made in Austria, where it helps to self-carry cochlear electrodes, noting that this method enables the surgeon to insert the implant into the shell in a smooth manner.
She noted that the device “H2 clamp forceps” is the third device to be invented at the King Abdullah Specialist Center for Ear.
