The King Abdullah Ear Specialist Center organizes the 17th annual meeting of cochlear implant patients and their families


Today, Thursday, 03 Rajab 1441 AH, corresponding to February 27, 2020, at King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Riyadh, the King Abdullah Specialist Ear Center organizes the activities of the seventeenth annual meeting of cochlear implant patients and their families under the patronage of His Excellency the Director of King Saud University, Prof. Dr. Badran bin Abdul Rahman Al-Omar, on behalf of him. Dr. Abdul Hamman Al-Muammar, Executive Director of the Medical City at King Saud University, on the occasion of the International Day for Cochlear Implants, which falls on February 25 of each year.

In this context, Dr. Abdul Rahman Hajar, head of the King Abdullah Specialist Center for Ear, said: “This year the 17th annual meeting of cochlear implant patients and their families witnesses the participation of an elite group of specialists in otolaryngology, skull bottom surgeons, speech and language specialists, audiologists and representatives from the Ministry Education, with cochlear implants and their families. “

He explained that this meeting witnesses many activities that contribute to answering the inquiries of cochlear growers, and answering those interested in this regard and other therapeutic solutions for cases of hearing loss, and stressed that these meetings will enhance the role of the patient and his family in the rehabilitation process after transplantation, and how to reach the ideal results On scientific grounds, revealing that job opportunities have been provided in coordination with the Sa`i Charitable Initiative for Cochlear Implants in the Kingdom.

The head of the King Abdullah Specialist Center for the Ear stated that the meeting includes educational and educational lectures on technical support for the devices by the manufacturers of the shell, in addition to the presence of activities for children that contribute to their support at the psychological level through seeing successful experiences of other children whose cochlear implants have been made and they lead a normal life, The meeting was accompanied by an exhibition in which a group of major international companies specialized in the cochlea industry participated, who displayed their latest products during the exhibition, indicating that the aim of the meeting is education and education to reach a healthy and cultured community of cochlear growers.

Dr. Hajar extended his thanks to Dr. Tawfiq Khuraisi, ear consultant, cochlear implant, and Dr. Saad Al Anzi, ear consultant and cochlear implant, for their efforts in organizing this important meeting. He also thanked King Abdullah Specialist Center for Ear Professor Mounira Al-Ma’rak, whose efforts we are preparing in this meeting.

It is mentioned that cochlear implant devices are witnessing continuous development in their manufacturing processes using modern technologies that are easy for farmers to deal with, such as controlling the electronic cochlear device remotely via an application that can be installed from the internet in addition to communicating with the Bluetooth headset.
