Objectives

KAESC works in cooperation with its strategic partners to treat and rehabilitate hearing disability cases, train and develop specialists in this field and conduct numerous researches relevant to hearing, hearing disorders and ear pathology.

KAESC aims in particular to fulfill the following:

  1. Become a unique center of excellence for the diagnosis and treatment of all ear diseases, otologic disorders and hearing and balance disorders.

2. Identification and provision of help to patients with hearing impairment in Saudi Arabia and provision of the best treatment possible.

3. Conducting activities and research projects to enhance the center’s role in its field and enhance not only the present theoretical understanding and concepts of normal hearing, hearing and balance disorders but also clinical practice in the diagnosis and management of ear pathology and hearing and balance disorders.

4. Create an appropriate environment for those who are interested in the field of normal hearing, hearing disorders, balance, management of hearing disorders, hearing devices and implantable auditory implants such as Otologists/Neuro-otologists, Surgeons, Pathologists, Pediatricians, Radiologists, Audiologists, Speech Language Pathologists/Therapists and Scientists.

5. To facilitate scientific and training collaborations between the Institution and Hospitals in Saudi Arabia and other countries to support cooperation among them to innovate new methods of diagnosis and treatment.

6. To contribute in the training of National and international Professionals from inside and outside Saudi Arabia who are specializing in the field of hearing, hearing devices, auditory implantable devices and balance disorders.

7. To establish a scientific reference in Saudi Arabia for: hearing disability; auditory implantable devices; auditory implantable devices and balance disorders.

8. Prepare, translate and design Arabic programs to evaluate and rehabilitate the patients with hearing disability and balance disorders. These programs are to be in Arabic language and commensurate with local community.

9. To initiate post-graduate programs in Audiology and Aural Rehabilitation.

10. To offer training, graduate studies, courses and workshops in the relevant fields (e.g. ENT, Audiology and Aural Rehabilitation) for the evaluation and rehabilitation of patients with hearing disability and balance disorder.
